Voyage dans l’île de Nork
Groupes HPI / Ecole du Platy, Villars-sur-Glâne, FR
As part of the national Eduki 2023/2024 competition entitled “My future, my ideas!”, focusing on the goals of sustainable development, the students came up with the following project: “A collaborative game that sees players evolve, as a team working towards the same goal, on the map of an imaginary world, a work in itself, created on a 2 x 1.7m canvas. After identifying with one of thirty possible characters, each player puts his or her strengths (and weaknesses) at the service of the team, to succeed in a “mission” selected from twenty or so possibilities. The aim of the game: to accomplish the mission in question as a team within the allotted time, finding a way to avoid generating conflict even in the event of disagreement, or damage to the environment – it will be necessary to agree on strategies as a collective while taking into account the differences and needs of each constructively in order to lead the team to success.”
Projektwoche “Energie”
École primaire de Sarnen, OW
As part of the national Eduki 2023/2024 competition entitled “My future, my ideas!”, focusing on the goals of sustainable development, the pupils came up with the following project: “The 115 third and fourth graders at the village school and their teachers suspended the regular timetable for a week. For five days, everything revolved around energy, how to produce it as ecologically as possible and how to minimize its consumption. Divided into six groups, the children worked intensively on the topics of hydropower, solar energy, wind power, kinetic energy, chemical energy such as biogas, and electrical energy. The students proved that the week was instructive. Elementary school pupils demonstrated their skills on Friday morning. The groups presented their results to their classmates in the classroom, with a critical eye, including on renewable forms of energy.”
Unsere Ideen für eine Nachhaltige Zukunft
École primaire d’Embrach, ZH
As part of the national Eduki 2023/2024 competition entitled “My future, my ideas!”, focusing on the goals of sustainable development, the students came up with the following project: “We want to present our idea for a resource-saving recharging process using solar panels made from biological waste to outsiders via an exhibition. Production must take place under fair working conditions. To complement our exhibition, we have created a recycling game for young and old guests, and to exchange ideas, we are running a bistro with sustainably produced pastries and sweet cider from the village farmer.”
Diversität in Bildern, ein Foto
École Divergenta, BE
As part of the national Eduki 2023/2024 competition entitled “My future, my ideas!” focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals, the students came up with the following project: “The photo competition project aims to showcase the diversity and strength of our society through impressive photography. The organizing group is made up of members who are personally concerned by the theme “disadvantages of marginalized groups”, which gives the project a special significance. The social media campaign, launched on the school’s Instagram account, informs about diversity, human rights, racism and discrimination. Young people are actively invited to implement their ideas on the theme of diversity in the form of photos. Photography serves as a powerful medium for visually telling complex stories and conveying emotions.”
Posten für Erlebnisweg gestalten
Kreisschule Thierstein West, SO
As part of the national Eduki 2023/2024 competition entitled “My future, my ideas!” on sustainable development goals, the students came up with the following project: “Our school has been asked by a local project group to contribute to a new adventure trail being created in the nearby forest. Our concrete action aims to raise awareness among forest visitors of the United Nations and its 17 goals. In line with the forest, we are focusing on the “Climate, Energy and Biodiversity” action area. Due to the size of the class, other goals have been addressed: we’ll be presenting goals 3, 6, 11, 12, 13 and 15 in detail, using comic strips we’ve created ourselves. Our aim is not only to inform visitors, but also to encourage them to think and give them tips on what they can do to help achieve the objectives. At the halfway point in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, we don’t just study the objectives and interim assessment in class, we also involve the local population.
As part of the national Eduki 2023/2024 competition entitled “My future, my ideas!”, focusing on sustainable development objectives, the students came up with the following project: “If you think that the integration of foreigners is not possible, it’s not true – integration is possible for anyone. Since the Escalade festival is an opportunity to bring students together, we decided to organize a festive and convivial moment for the whole school.”
Aller vers (le retour)
Centre de la Formation Préprofessionelle (CFPP), GE
As part of the national Eduki 2023/2024 competition entitled “My future, my ideas!”, which focused on sustainable development objectives, the students came up with the following project: “Our work focuses on creating a cycle enabling the cooks at our school to compost their food waste on site and use this compost to grow herbs and vegetables. To achieve this, we looked for a simple device called the Keyhole. French for keyhole. The name comes from the shape of the composter. We had excluded meat products for reasons of hygiene and odour, but we’re now planning to introduce, in stages, a system for recycling all food waste. This would enable cooks to significantly change the way they manage their food waste.”
As part of the national Eduki 2023/2024 competition entitled “My future, my ideas!”, focusing on sustainable development objectives, the students came up with the following project: “On July 24, 2023, La Chaux-de-Fonds suffered a violent storm that devastated the area around the high school and destroyed the woods and forests surrounding the high school. Feeling uprooted, the students in the LBC’s climate group decided to carry out reforestation actions. They succeeded in initiating these actions by finding donors to plant a first oak tree, an important symbolic act for our high school. Exhibitions were set up in the school’s main hall, a tree exhibition by Jeanne Waltz and an “Ode to Trees” exhibition by Aline Jaquet-Tissot. Conferences have been set up and others will be proposed throughout 2024. Soil analyses will be carried out in conjunction with the University of Neuchâtel and Biovision. Students will take part in major sustainable development events taking place in the city, including “Pe(a)nser les arbres en ville”, a practical, artistic and reflective day, and will take part in the Green Film Festival. After having been made aware of the complex issue of sustainable development and replanting, and of the authorizations to be sought and collaborations to be set up with the various departments of the city, canton and buildings, the students will have two “green” days this summer to replant trees, transform grassy areas into flowery meadows and replant giant flower boxes left to decay with shrubs promoting biodiversity”.
La belle vie des animaux
Le Cerf Feuillu – Ecole en Forêt, GE
As part of the national Eduki 2023/2024 competition entitled “My future, my ideas!”, focusing on the goals of sustainable development, the pupils came up with the following project: “At the start of the year, each child in our school chose a totem animal, enabling them to tackle the theme of biodiversity and the measures to be taken to protect it. The pupils created a collective fresco in the form of weavings and drawings symbolizing the web that links the biodiversity of each environment. This is accompanied by an audio that proposes solutions to combat the threats to their animal totems, enabling the children to move beyond mere observation and into a positive future of action”.
Glasstein-Erleuchtung
Primarschule Im Birch, ZH
As part of the 2023/2024 Eduki National Competition, titled “My Future, My Ideas!”, and focusing on three main action areas defined by the Confederation to achieve several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—Sustainable Consumption and Production; Climate, Energy, and Biodiversity; and Equal Opportunities and Social Cohesion—the students envisioned the following project: “Our class created an illuminated glass sphere using sea glass from Lebanon. This sea glass was collected by children and adults living in precarious conditions and generously donated for our work. Sea glass is also a form of marine waste. While not as harmful as plastic, it still contributes to pollution and can injure animals. We can create beautiful objects from this sea glass and thereby recycle it! This project passively promotes the SDGs by raising awareness about waste management and encouraging reuse. The environment is made aware of and influenced by the discussion around this topic.”
Impact positif sur notre environnement
Ecole EP Tour-de-Trême, FR
As part of the 2023/2024 Eduki National Competition, titled “My Future, My Ideas!”, and focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals, the students envisioned the following project: “We created artworks using cardboard that was headed for the trash. After various investigative sessions about the positive and negative impact humans can have on the environment, the children had several ideas for reusing cardboard and wanted to implement them. The students had complete freedom in creating these artworks; our goal was to have as little waste as possible to recycle afterward and for them to want to keep their creations.”
Start Up… Green!
Ecole secondaire Speicher, AR
As part of the 2023/2024 Eduki National Competition, titled “My Future, My Ideas!”, and focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals, the students envisioned the following project: “The project is a board game designed to inspire people of all ages to care about the environment. The game’s objective is to improve one’s own business and make it more environmentally friendly. The game can be played by 2 to 6 players and is well-suited for schools and families.”
If you want to breathe clean go GREEN!
Ecole Internationale – La Chataigneraie, VD
As part of the 2023/2024 Eduki National Competition, titled “My Future, My Ideas!”, and focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals, the students envisioned the following project: “Our initiative, named ‘If You Want to Breathe Clean, Go Green,’ is a collective project created by my 7th-grade class. Each student participated by sculpting a letter from this symbolic phrase. Each of these finely decorated letters features symbols representing their vision for Sustainable Development Goals 14 and 15. In the end, we will assemble these letters to display the complete phrase, offering an artistic and educational expression of our commitment to a healthy and sustainable environment.”
Just a Girl
Ecole Internationale – La Chataigneraie, VD
As part of the 2023/2024 Eduki National Competition, titled “My Future, My Ideas!”, and focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals, the students envisioned the following project: “This artwork represents society’s unrealistic expectations of girls and women. The objects surrounding the woman are just a few of the products women are expected to use. We also included magazine articles published in real, globally renowned magazines—they illustrate how society perceives women’s lives. We chose a pink background because it’s a very ‘feminine’ color. The two Sustainable Development Goals explored in this piece are equality and well-being.”
An Evolution of our planet
Grow
Ecole Internationale de Genève – Campus des Nations, GE
As part of the 2023/2024 Eduki National Competition, titled “My Future, My Ideas!”, and focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Sustainable Consumption and Production; Climate, Energy, and Biodiversity; and Equal Opportunities and Social Cohesion, the students envisioned the following project: “The idea behind my project was to create a multi-media animation to illustrate humanity’s impact on the environment and the fact that the only way to reverse the damage we’ve caused is to actively work to repair it. The story in the animation I created aims to show the fictional consequences of environmental damage, in this case, waste. Plastic pollution is one of the main environmental concerns, with microplastics ending up in environments worldwide, in water supplies, and so on. I wanted to explore how these elements might appear in a fictional environment, in a more metaphorical way.”
ECOLOGYWELL
Collège du Vuillonnex, GE
As part of the 2023/2024 Eduki National Competition, titled “My Future, My Ideas!”, focusing on the three main action areas defined by the Confederation to achieve several Sustainable Development Goals: Sustainable Consumption and Production; Climate, Energy, and Biodiversity; and Equal Opportunities and Social Cohesion, the students envisioned the following project: “We are concerned about climate change and pollution, which we see as a major problem. This led us to our project addressing the following issue: Energy waste between isolated actions and global repercussions. The idea behind this project is to create a documentary about the life of a character named Gywell. This documentary will show an ordinary day in Gywell’s life, a day where he wastes a lot of energy and other resources, hour by hour through daily actions, without even realizing it. We will then show the consequences of these actions with statistics and images to raise awareness among viewers, because Gywell isn’t so different from any of us. At the end of this day, we’ll go back to show how to avoid this unnecessary energy waste. Gywell will then live exactly the same day as at the beginning, this time making the right choices.”
Détective-énergie
Collège du Vuillonnex, GE
As part of the 2023/2024 Eduki National Competition, titled “My Future, My Ideas!”, focusing on the three main action areas defined by the Confederation to achieve several Sustainable Development Goals: Sustainable Consumption and Production; Climate, Energy, and Biodiversity; and Equal Opportunities and Social Cohesion, the students envisioned the following project: “The idea was to produce a video about heat loss that the orientation cycle is experiencing, centered on the problem: ‘Our cycle is a thermal sieve, is that good?’ We chose to make a funny fictional story about two friends who become detectives and try to find out why it’s so hot in this cycle, encountering various characters along the way before finally finding and solving the problem.”
Fleurescentes
For some a waste, for some a daily save
Gymnasium Muttenz – Bâle Campagne, BS
As part of the 2023/2024 Eduki National Competition, titled “My Future, My Ideas!”, focusing on the three main action areas defined by the Confederation to achieve several Sustainable Development Goals: Sustainable Consumption and Production; Climate, Energy, and Biodiversity; and Equal Opportunities and Social Cohesion, the students envisioned the following project: “In 2019, Switzerland was responsible for 2,800,000,000 kg of food waste. This amount greatly shocked us, but we were even more surprised by the fact that we, whether intentionally or not, contribute a significant portion to this figure increasing every year. It’s possible to reduce your share by adopting a conscious attitude towards food. Our intention is to illustrate the effects of food waste in Switzerland in a video and, at the same time, propose concrete solutions. Additionally, we plan to track and analyze our own amount of wasted food through a personal experiment. To do this, we want to use attractive models and visual representations to consciously show the amount of food being wasted.”
As part of the 2023/2024 Eduki National Competition, titled “My Future, My Ideas!”, and focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals, the students envisioned the following project: “The goal of our project is to visually represent the various inequalities a woman can face in our society through a short, self-illustrated film. In our film, we compare the lives of twins (a girl and a boy) and show the unequal differences in their life paths from childhood to retirement. The aim of this video is to create something impactful that will resonate with as many people as possible.”
