Guided tours

The guided tour offers students the opportunity to discover the many facets of International Geneva: its international and non-governmental organizations, topics such as humanitarian aid, children’s rights, peace and conflict, as well as the key concepts of international cooperation.

Students will learn about the role of the main international organizations headquartered in Geneva, as well as the influence of prominent figures in the history of international relations.

The activity is made engaging and interactive through a Bingo game, which students can win if they pay close attention to the numbers, names and concepts presented throughout the tour.

Some examples of prominent figures and places explored:

• Henry Dunant: Founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and initiator of a global movement supporting victims of armed conflicts.
• From the League of Nations to the United Nations: Understanding the evolution of international organizations dedicated to promoting peace and security.
• Place des Nations: A symbolic location for dialogue on disarmament and international cooperation.
• The International Telecommunication Union (ITU): Its role in regulating and advancing communication technologies.
• The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO): Its role in protecting and promoting ideas, creations and inventions worldwide.
• The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR): Its missions in support of displaced persons and refugees around the world.

Final Quiz: Each tour concludes with an interactive quiz that allows students to review and consolidate the knowledge and key concepts they have discovered during the visit.
