Launch ceremony for the 2025/2026 competition at the ITU

Event highlights
On 30 September 2025, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) hosted the launch of the 10ᵗʰ edition of the Eduki Competition, as part of the celebration of its 160th anniversary.
This key occasion was marked by the contributions of Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the ITU, present in the form of an avatar, Mr. Tomas Lamanaukas, Deputy Secretary-General of the ITU, and Ms. Francine de Planta, President of Fondation Eduki.
About 110 students and teachers took part in the event, which included inspiring talks and interactive workshops led by ITU experts on key topics such as artificial intelligence, e-waste management, gender equality, quantum technologies, radiocommunication, and online child protection. This unique moment was also animated by interactive quizzes and concluded with presentations delivered by the pupils of each workshop group.
The theme of the Competition, « Interconnected: human – digital – sustainable », complements these topics. The workshops gave participants a first opportunity to reflect concretely on the challenges and opportunities of the digital world, in line with the core focus areas of the Competition.
It was a moment of exchange and reflection, allowing young people to explore the inner workings of an international organisation and to engage with committed specialists working toward a more inclusive, sustainable, and responsible digital world.
