17 Goals to Transform our World
In 2015, UN member states adopted 17 global goals to reduce poverty, eradicate hunger, combat global warming, and work for a peaceful world so that every human being can live in peace and prosperity. These Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are aimed at both developing and developed countries, and to governments and civil society alike. In other words, the SDGs are everyone's business!
To reach them, states have been given 15 years, until 2030. While significant improvements have already been made, including greater awareness of the challenges of climate change, there are still many areas where we must do more to achieve the SDGs.
