Freedom of expression on the Internet, limits and opportunities for young people
The awards ceremony of our 4th competition on the theme of "Freedom of expression on the Internet, limits and opportunities for young people" took place on May 22, 2014 in the symbolic setting of Room XX at the Palais des Nations.
More than 230 students, teachers and guests participated in this beautiful event. The ceremony began with speeches by Mr. Michael Moller, Acting Director-General of the United Nations Office in Geneva, Ambassador Urs Schmid, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Swiss Mission, and Mrs. Martine Brunschwig Graf, President of the Eduki Foundation.
"Every individual, every citizen, you and me, we all must, in our daily life, defend the same freedom of expression. And this freedom is not only exercised by allowing everyone to express themselves, but also by ensuring that our words and writings do not harm others, deprive them of their rights, do not reach their private lives [...]
By participating in this contest, you have proven how committed you are to building a better future. ".
