Transport: to facilitate human and commercial flows in a world in motion

Man has always sought to move. First on land, then by sea and then in air and space. Transport has therefore become an essential activity for all communities, and thanks to technological progress, flows of goods and people from one point to another are facilitated. A transport system therefore includes infrastructure, energy resources, vehicles and operating systems.

Switzerland hosts several international organizations in the field of transport such as the Intergovernmental Organization for International Rail Transport (OTIF) or the International Road Transport Union (IRU).
