Population, culture and education: issues addressed in the UN Sustainable Development Goals
In these three fields relating to development work, international institutions such as UNESCO or UNICEF are working to ensure that every child:
• has access to a qualified education, fundamental human rights and essential conditions for sustainable development;
• has to grow and live in a rich cultural environment with diversity and dialogue, and where heritage is a sign of unity between generations and peoples;
• fully benefits from scientific progress;
• and enjoys freedom of speech, the basis for democracy, development and human dignity.
The world population will thus benefit from the achievement of all these goals and in turn, every inhabitant of the planet will be able to prosper in their society.
