• GENERAL
• Why take part of the Eduki Competition? add remove

  The competition provides teachers with a clear framework for tackling the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the classroom. It is also an opportunity to showcase a sustainable development project, regardless of how advanced it is. As for the students, taking action in favour of the SDGs allows them to feel like actors of their own future. Moreover, this is a unique opportunity to come to the Palais des Nations, the headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva, for the awards ceremony on May 15, 2024.

• Level of independence: How can a teacher/adult help? add remove

  The submitted work or project has to be realised by the participants, but they may be assisted or advised by one or more adults. The participants’ involvement in the entire process (from the idea to its realisation) must be evident.

   

• REGISTRATION
• How to choose my categories? add remove

  Every group or class that registers must choose an area (teacher concept [FE1] ) and then a type of project (media production, artwork or concrete action).

   

• Is it possible for Swiss schools abroad to take part in the competition? add remove

  No, only schools located in Switzerland can participate.

• Is there a maximum number of students per group? add remove

  No, it is possible to take part individually, in groups, classes or even as a whole school, with no limited numbers.

• Form: Should the students fill it in? add remove

  Generally speaking, teachers fill in the registration form. Students can also fill it in as long as the name of the teacher supervising the project appears on the form.

• THE PROJECTS
• How to approach the project? Any suggestions for how to get started? add remove

  Teacher concept as a starting point or have a look at examples of projects from previous competitions.

• Is it mandatory to have results in order to submit a project? add remove

  In the "Concrete action" category, the project can take various forms: project idea; project in progress; completed project (within the twelve months preceding the deadline for submission).

• What is a media creation? add remove

  A media creation is an audiovisual or digital piece on the theme of the Competition. The accepted genres are: video, short film (documentary or fiction), vox-pop, radio programme, website, video game, music clip. A video in an MP4 format or an audio recording in an MP3 format must be submitted on theCompetition webpage.

• An artwork: What works are accepted? add remove

  Visual arts (drawing, painting, photo, sculpture etc.), literature (poem, story, etc.), live spectacle (theatre, dance, etc.), digital art (photo montage, digital illustrations, etc.)

   

• Françoise Demole Award: Is it possible to submit a project that has already been completed? add remove

  Yes, if there is a possibility of continuing the project. Otherwise, the project may be at the idea stage, either in progress or already completed.

• Is there any support for the implementation of "Concrete action" projects? add remove

  The best "Concrete action" project(s) submitted by Secondary II classes may receive financial support (max CHF 10,000) from the Françoise Demole Award.

• Who decides on the prizes? add remove

  Each category of the competition is assessed by an ad hoc jury made up of competent people with proven experience in the relevant area.

• CEREMONY
• Ceremony on May 15: Is everyone invited to the ceremony? add remove

  Yes, everyone is invited. If there are too many participants, priority will be given to the winners. 

• Where to stay in Geneva? add remove

  Eduki provides a list of accommodation in and around Geneva. Contact the Eduki team to receive it: concours@eduki.ch 

• How to get to Geneva? add remove

  Wherever possible, we support class trips to take part in the awards ceremony. Contact Eduki: concours@eduki.ch
